fandom_counts by joining. As the userinfo says There is no posting access here; this is only a body count. All you have to do is join, and you will be counted.
Since it's creation earlier today it already has 1868 members.
ETA before posting: Okay, wow, in the last five minutes it went up to 1961 members.
Add to the count!
ETA2: If you have a separate fic or reading LJ, join with that as well - they are trying to figure out how many of the 13,000,000 LJ's created are fannish ones.
Other interesting stats: Number of LJ's that are active in some way: 1,778,032 and number of LJ's that have ever updated: 8,227,919.
