Five Questions from [livejournal.com profile] aurora_84.

The Questions
1. How do you look back on your high school/college years?
2. What is/was your favorite fairy tale?
3. Which story that you've written do you love the most?
4. What do you think is the best and worst thing about fandom?
5. Nine or Ten? :D

1. I enjoyed high school. I have a lot of really good memories, and a few really bad ones, but for the most part high school was a good experience.

College was, well, interesting. I had a very love/hate relationship with it. I picked wrong with schools and ended up very uncomfortable at such a huge school (Michigan State). I found some great friends, none of whom I stay in touch with anymore, but it was nice at the time.

I count my junior year as one of the best in my life. I studied abroad to Hong Kong for 5 months, then Rome for 5 months and I had a FANTASTIC time.

I also loved my summers - working at summer camp and a computer software company. I made a ton of friends, most I still am in touch with.

2. Rapunzel or Sleeping Beauty! I love them both so very very much.

3. Love the most - I'm going for a tie. Red Light on a Wedding Night because I had so much fun writing it. And A Little Crazy because it's the story I always wanted to write, but never thought I actually could.

4. Best thing - the people. I have made so many amazing friends in fandom. All of my current "best" friends I met through fandom.

Worst thing - the crazy sense of entitlement regarding shows and characters.

5. Ten. Hands down.

If anyone wants questions from me, let me know. :-)

I missed that last sentence. But I still like the questions.

1. Nine or Ten what? (re: aurora_84's q's)
2. What happened to the rotating header?
3. When do you start the new job?
4. What is your favorite cliche for fanfiction?
5. What one place, real or in a fandom, would you like to visit above all other places?

It's allowed. :-)

1. You know that answer - Which Doctor. :-)
2. I haven't finished the banners yet. This one is a placeholder (and it will be in the rotation) until I find all the caps I want and crop them. I'm being picky.
3. Right now? Sept 24th.
4. Cuddling for warmth. That or everyone finds out they are dating. I love those.
5. I want to go to Angkor Wat.

Okay, I am not familiar with Angkor Wat and must go Wikipedia it, or failing that, google it.

That is beautiful and awesome.

Isn't it? I really wanted to go back in 2000, but I couldn't find anyone to go with me, and going alone wasn't really an option.

Yes, I can see going alone being an issue... which is sad in it's own right. But wow, that is really a beautiful place!

Hit me with your best questions. I'm feeling memey today!

1. Peanut Butter, Chocolate, or Marshmallow Fluff? (or a combo?)
2. What is your favorite thing about being a lawyer?
3. What is your best memory from the last year?
4. What fandom do you wish you could write in?
5. If you could force anyone to write anything, who would you force and what would you make them write?

1. All of the above, smooshed together. That actually sounds fantastic. Smack it all on a graham cracker, and it sounds like heaven. Though, if I had to pick, it would be PB, hands down - it's like a whole food group of its own in my diet.

2. Being able to help people. Dorky but true. Having the knowledge to help people in a way no one else can (even just basic help) makes me feel really good, like my education actually meant something and is really helping make the world better.

3. Ooooh, good one. Hrmmmmm. Probably our first wedding anniversary - we got a fancy schmancy hotel room and champagne and everything, and ate our pieces of frozen leftover wedding cake, and it was really special.

4. I wish I were good enough to write in the Sorkin fandoms - specifically West Wing and Sports Night. I am desperately in love with them as shows, and they were totally my gateway drug into fandom, but the dialogue has to be perfect, or it's just all totally wrong, and I don't trust myself that much yet. Hell, at this point, I barely trust myself to write in SGA. Maybe someday. ;-)

5. I would force Aaron Sorkin to write an episode of Stargate Atlantis - with the Season 2 cast - because that would just be stone cold AWESOME. My two favorite TV things in one place. *sigh*

Shoot! (Though I might not fully get to answering things until Friday... it's been a long week).

4. I agree completely! Me too!

1. What is you current favorite song?
2. What is your favorite thing to do after a bad day.
3. Cheesy High School Movies or Dumb Comedies?
4. Best memory, ever.
5. Why you love your flist!

...mmm did I say which Friday? *hides*

Okay, here goes:

1) "Don't Look Back" by Kenny Maclean. No, you've probably never heard of him, or the song... it's a minor Canadian hit from the '80s, but the chorus has always hooked me.

2) Chill out with some good TV, or on the computer, reading about other peoples' days which have hopefully gone better than mine.

3) If by 'dumb comedies' you mean things like Army of Darkness, well, then I think you have your answer.

4)You're asking someone with no memory? mmm... off the top of my head, I'd say it was back when I was in 4-H. We were doing the 'fun parade' at the PNE (basically a costume parade with the animals. Ours was a beef club, and we used a theme of Ferdinand, with everybody dressed up in 'Spanish' costumes, and using my sister's (very tame) steer as 'Ferdinand'. As we were going in, my mother came up with the idea that instead of walking, I ride the steer like a horse (I was the smallest kid in the club and we knew he was tame enough for it), just to up the cute factor. As they started creeping closer to first place, we just knew we hadn't placed. Then, when they announced us as the winner, the two guys leading the steer were so excited, they began to run towards the judges and someone had to pull me off the steer's back before I fell off. I don't remember too much detail, just everybody being excited and convinced that the fact that I was riding instead of walking put us over the top. Which kind of made me feel special. :)

Right up there with that would have to be the memory of winning my very first public speaking competition ever, in 4-H as well (my topic was goldfish). I give the program credit for the fact that I am not afraid to do public speaking, at all.

5)Because they love me! Seriously, my flist has been so supportive of me, it's not even funny... and you all have helped me grow and become stronger on my own. Plus, being a shy person (I am!), it's kind of amazing to find that there are these people around the world who are interested in talking to me. It still blows my mind, a little.

Ooooh, I didn't know that and yes, it does indeed sound awesome. (Also awesome: Angkor Wat, which I had to look up - I'd seen it before, but didn't know it was called that. :D)

And yeah, hit me with some questions. (But I'll answer them here if that's okay, because my flist is going to kill me for posting more memes. :D)

I *loved* living in Hong Kong. SO MUCH. I would totally move back if I could get my husband to leave North America. :-)

Answering here is good:

1. What is your favorite fandom?
2. Best and worst things about LJ?
3. What is your comfort story?
4. Ten/Jack or Jack/Martha?
5. Favorite thing about the law?

1. For now (and I don't see it changing any time soon), it's SGA. Even though I've become a total fandom whore recently, and have been spending quite some time in the Heroes fandom, and despite the fact that I have very fond memories of my first fandom (QAF), SGA is my happy place. A lot of it is because of the people (ilu flist!) and because of the (crack)fic (ilu sgastoryfinders!).

2. Best: communucation, social contact, endless flailing and abuse of capslock, amazing stories, the entire internet lingo, the fact that my English has improved so much and even the wank can sometimes be totally amusing. And cat macros! Oh, and all the pr0n. :))

Worst: Just like in real life, all the bitchiness and the passive agressiveness that simply has to come along with human interaction. And the fact that you both know and don't know people, because most of them live so far away. :-/

3. Depends a bit on my mood, but a lot of Speranza's en seperis' stories really do the trick. Also: Helen's 'Your Inevitable Unhappy Ending' and Kaneko's 'Intersections'.

4. Jack/Martha! As much as I love Ten (and the fact that Ten/Jack would be fucking hot), I really don't think he's capable of having normal relationships (or even casual ones). And Jack and Martha realize that, I think. They can have super hot comfort sex instead.*g*

5. I just love the entire law process, the correlation between law-making and reality, the infinite action and reaction and the ability of the law to adapt.

Questions! Ask questions!

1. Who would you love to see Jack paired with? (any fandom.)
2. Shag, Cliff, Marry - [livejournal.com profile] omglawdork, [livejournal.com profile] smittywing, [livejournal.com profile] raisintorte
3. Favorite thing you've done since you joined fandom?
4. Best thing about your life?
5. Watching TV or Walking the dog?

posted by [identity profile] wojelah.livejournal.com at 04:30am on 12/07/2007
1. ANY fandom? Hrm. I would love Jack Harkness/Elizabeth Weir with a passion greater than a thousand suns.

2. I choose d) live eternally in a merry co-op and cliff the unhappy-making parts of fandom.

3. The Carsonficofdoom. I blame Anna Beckett. Although the thing with the peaches is a pretty close runner-up.

4. My family - the part I'm related to and the part that's been acquired over time. The people in my life are entirely amazing.

5. Walking the dog. I watch surprisingly little TV, for all I love my fandoms.
