Five Questions

Five Questions from [livejournal.com profile] aurora_84.

The Questions
1. How do you look back on your high school/college years?
2. What is/was your favorite fairy tale?
3. Which story that you've written do you love the most?
4. What do you think is the best and worst thing about fandom?
5. Nine or Ten? :D

1. I enjoyed high school. I have a lot of really good memories, and a few really bad ones, but for the most part high school was a good experience.

College was, well, interesting. I had a very love/hate relationship with it. I picked wrong with schools and ended up very uncomfortable at such a huge school (Michigan State). I found some great friends, none of whom I stay in touch with anymore, but it was nice at the time.

I count my junior year as one of the best in my life. I studied abroad to Hong Kong for 5 months, then Rome for 5 months and I had a FANTASTIC time.

I also loved my summers - working at summer camp and a computer software company. I made a ton of friends, most I still am in touch with.

2. Rapunzel or Sleeping Beauty! I love them both so very very much.

3. Love the most - I'm going for a tie. Red Light on a Wedding Night because I had so much fun writing it. And A Little Crazy because it's the story I always wanted to write, but never thought I actually could.

4. Best thing - the people. I have made so many amazing friends in fandom. All of my current "best" friends I met through fandom.

Worst thing - the crazy sense of entitlement regarding shows and characters.

5. Ten. Hands down.

If anyone wants questions from me, let me know. :-)

Ooooh, I didn't know that and yes, it does indeed sound awesome. (Also awesome: Angkor Wat, which I had to look up - I'd seen it before, but didn't know it was called that. :D)

And yeah, hit me with some questions. (But I'll answer them here if that's okay, because my flist is going to kill me for posting more memes. :D)

I *loved* living in Hong Kong. SO MUCH. I would totally move back if I could get my husband to leave North America. :-)

Answering here is good:

1. What is your favorite fandom?
2. Best and worst things about LJ?
3. What is your comfort story?
4. Ten/Jack or Jack/Martha?
5. Favorite thing about the law?

1. For now (and I don't see it changing any time soon), it's SGA. Even though I've become a total fandom whore recently, and have been spending quite some time in the Heroes fandom, and despite the fact that I have very fond memories of my first fandom (QAF), SGA is my happy place. A lot of it is because of the people (ilu flist!) and because of the (crack)fic (ilu sgastoryfinders!).

2. Best: communucation, social contact, endless flailing and abuse of capslock, amazing stories, the entire internet lingo, the fact that my English has improved so much and even the wank can sometimes be totally amusing. And cat macros! Oh, and all the pr0n. :))

Worst: Just like in real life, all the bitchiness and the passive agressiveness that simply has to come along with human interaction. And the fact that you both know and don't know people, because most of them live so far away. :-/

3. Depends a bit on my mood, but a lot of Speranza's en seperis' stories really do the trick. Also: Helen's 'Your Inevitable Unhappy Ending' and Kaneko's 'Intersections'.

4. Jack/Martha! As much as I love Ten (and the fact that Ten/Jack would be fucking hot), I really don't think he's capable of having normal relationships (or even casual ones). And Jack and Martha realize that, I think. They can have super hot comfort sex instead.*g*

5. I just love the entire law process, the correlation between law-making and reality, the infinite action and reaction and the ability of the law to adapt.
