Weekend Cooking!

Weekend Cooking - Halloween Cookies, Apple and Sausage Stuffing, Pumpkin Puree, and the starting of Stuffed Mushrooms.

The cookies were part of my Bake the Book! Challenge - they weren't in alphabetical order, but I really wanted to make them. I think Bake the Book might have to start up for real after the holidays.

I'm having a dinner party next weekend and I wanted to get a start (and test out the stuffing!) I didn't actually finish what I wanted, but I got a lot of stuff chopped.

Sam kept getting in the way while I was flouring the counter and the rolling pin!

Halloween Cookies! (I was going to frost them, but I ran out of time)

The awesome cutters!

Sam was watching a cop execute a search incident to lawful arrest in front of our house. :-) (actually, the guy didn't get arrested, but he totally consented like a dumbass to having the officer search his car.) She was FASCINATED. (and we were totally those people watching through their blinds)

The evil pumpkins before they claim my finger.

All wrapped up so I could still cook!

Broken french bread for stuffing!

Pumpkin seeks for roasting!

Roasting Pumpkin!

The food took over my kitchen for a while.

NOM NOM NOM. Roasted pork loin!

Pumpkin Puree!!! (after all the work, I will be using ALL of it).

Apple and Sausage Stuffing!

She is so much fun to cook with. I almost get sad when she's not underfoot!

My mom used to roast pumpkin for breads and pies, and while it is definitely a process, the results are so worth it.

D'awww, Sam! She's looking so hopeful that you'll drop something delicious in that first photo. :D

Yikes your thumb! But the pumkin-y food looks delicious.

It all turned out so well!

Cooking with Sam is one of my favorite things.
