Question

(sorry for the spam, but I started ETAing this into the previous post and then it got long.)

Here is the question: Should I get a myspace page?

A bunch of my high school and college friends have them, and one was trying to talk me into getting one the other night.

I generally associate Myspace with my coworkers 15 year old daughter and To Catch a Predator. Right or wrong, that's how I see it and I'm having trouble getting past that.

I can't decide if I want to actually break down and get one - so flist help! Do you have one? If yes, what do you use it for? Anything I should know in making this decision?

Really anything about it at all would be useful. :-)

I have one, but never, ever use it. I made it because a friend of mine urged me to.

Actually it is. Everyone around here seems to have ones they just don't use. I could get one, see how people are doing, then not use it past that. :-)

i actually freaked out a couple of weeks ago after cruising around over there and found a whole bunch of people that i would rather have not found. !

I've done that a few times. I found a girl from high school, and then a bunch of her friends. BUT my best friend from 2nd grade to 12th has one. (though she was the one person who RSVP'd and then failed to show at my wedding reception)

So does another high school buddy. Decisions, decisions.

I have a friend who uses it and is quite happy with her account. She actually found some old friends from the US with whom she lost contact again.
So for her, it works.

I have one, I use it, and I love it. I have found tons of high school and college friends that I'd lost touch with, and it helps me keep up with law school friends. Also, I can stalk my favorite famous people who have pages up (David Hewlett, Jewel Staite, Nathan Fillion).
