A few notable things!

- Because she is awesome, [livejournal.com profile] medie gave other people presents on her birthday! For me she wrote When the Festival Came to Town. A Murder, She Wrote/Nancy Drew crossover! With Nancy Drew/Frank Hardy, and Seth Hazlett and Jessica Fletcher! Seriously. :-) And it's AWESOME.

- I'm writing fic! Bates, Weir, post season 3 genfic. Yay!

- I finally gave in and pre ordered Harry Potter this past weekend. I'm not worried about my flist spoiling, I'm more worried about CNN or news. It took me a few months to get around to reading HBP, and I stayed unspoiled, but I think this time it might be harder.

- I am still behind on comments and emails, but I should be able to catch up tonight.

- I've been on a serious historical romance kick lately. I've re read pretty much every Amanda Quick book in the last two weeks. I love her books, it's just reading them all in a few days highlights how formulaic they are. Also, she went a bit over board with the lasers, and alchemy, and paranormal stuff for a while. And the weird societies. She does that in her Jayne Ann Krentz books as well. I also re read everything I owned by Julie Garwood, Eloisa James, and Joan Wolf. ::loves::

- We ordered Season 1 of The Closer the other day. I'm excited to watch it.

- ETA: [livejournal.com profile] trobadora reminded me! For the Doctor Who people, there is a Ten/Jack fest going on over at [livejournal.com profile] wintercompanion! I created the banner and the layout. It should be a lot of fun!

Writing good! Bates better. :D

And YAY for HP! Let us know when you're finished reading. :-)

Also, have you pimped [livejournal.com profile] wintercompanion yet? OMG SO EXCITED.

Er. I seem to be excited about lots of things at the moment!

Yay! I'm excited.

I'll start reading as soon as I get it, which should be on Saturday afternoon. So probably Sunday.

I just ETA'd the post to pimp! I forgot. :-)

Yay being excited!

Wooo, Bates!

re: HP: I read the epilogue (if it's not a fake), but I promise to not ever spoil you about anything.

I know! Now I just need time to finish it!

I'm avoiding all spoilers. :-)

Eee! Sounds like we have a very similar romance collection :D
I'm currently working my way through the Cynster series by Stephanie Laurens, which I'm hugely enjoying (although *cough* they be rather porny - Amanda Quick is TAME in comparison :P)

And whee! HP! I pre-ordered as well :D

[identity profile] raisintorte.livejournal.com 2007-07-18 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Hah! That's so great. I've never read Stephanie Laurens. I've been reading the old Amanda Quick's and seriously? Her prose is SO BAD. There was this whole metaphor about unlocking her, that didn't really work. And her euphemisms? NOT GOOD. She over uses "shaft."

Have you read Eloisa James? She's by far my favorite.

Yay HP! Now I just have to stay spoiler free for a few days.
