Of the same kinds, class, or nature

I'm pretty much over the nasty cold, so all in all I had a decent weekend. Did a lot to get ready for the party next weekend and then just spent most of today being a giant bum, which was nice. I watched a bunch of episodes of Eureka on sci fi and that was fun.

I did cook a few fun things the last two weeks - cupcakes, pizza, pretzel bites. The pretzel bites turned out SO WELL and I am so happy with them. I'm so making them for the party.

And we got a bird bath! I love that.

Since Saturday we have gotten over 3.5 feet of snow! Given there was a state of emergency declared and the roads were closed, I spent the last two days working from home. I was able to do a TON of work from home, which was good.

We had a good weekend! I had to work (from home) for a few hours, but nothing too shabby. We enjoyed the snow, played with Sam, went for walks, etc.

I got to do a lot of cooking/baking this weekend which was fun! And now we are watching the superbowl!

I haven't posted about cooking in a while, and even though work has been insane, I have had time on the weekends to do a bit of cooking.

This is from the last month or so, and some of these I've made and posted about before. The Dijon pork, which was new and I made tonight, was fantastic and will definitely be made again. The fettuccine in cream of tomato sauce is really just one of the best recipes I have ever made. I've made it twice, and been super happy both times.

These were fun to make but made the house quite smokey! I burnt the first two, so I started over and they tasted yummy. I topped them with warm honey and seasme seeds.

Homophone FAIL


(I saw this in a Maggie Moo's near Emmaus, PA yesterday)

We decided to take a whirl-wind trip to Ohio for the holiday weekend to visit my in-laws. It rained on Friday, creating a BIG mud puddle in the back yard. You know what happens when a Golden Retriever meets a mud puddle?

She had an AMAZING time. She ran around the house before we could catch her and by the time we got to her the damage was done. So for the next 30 minutes Sam was rolling and running and dipping and diving and it was FANTASTIC. She was the happiest I have ever seen her. (I would note that she was not so happy with the subsequent 30 minute hosing/bath it took to get the mud out of her fur :-))

We had a great trip - Sam was an ANGEL in the car both ways, we didn't get a flat tire, and I didn't get food poisoning and end up in the ER, so that makes it better than last year. :-)

My mom and I are in DC and having a grand time. Today I took her walking around the mall and we didn't really "see" anything ( I dragged her into the Air and Space museum for 10 minutes just so she could see the awesomeness of it - she actually did appreciate it.) And we ran into the Natural History museum to oogle the Hope Diamond, but mostly we just enjoyed the weather and the pretty gardens.

My mom got a new digital camera, so I was playing around with it taking pictures of flowers - they came out really well!
